Honsbridge curriculum allows students to gain knowledge, which goes beyond their field of study. The objectives of Honsbridge are to get students to think critically, to be aware of societal issues, to appreciate the arts and to give them the communication skills and confidence to help shape the world they live in.
towards a student-centered classroom
At Honsbridge, the student-centred approach puts the learner at the heart of learning process, and is central to the Cambridge philosophy. It promotes autonomy in the classroom, so that students are able to take responsibility for their work, and play an active role in their own development.
Peer assessment is an important element of student-centred learning during prep sessions, and the students discussed how they had each performed and what work was needed to improve. They acted as mentors to each other.
Sports & Activity
Sports
All students have the opportunity to enjoy a range of sport at the sports centre across from the academy or the nearby field. Supervised sports and activities are therefore an important part of the curriculum at the academy.
